American Girl’s Shine On Now Project plus Giveaway – CLOSED

Every now and then we come across a young girl who wants to make a difference in the world and help others in need. To foster a spirit of goodwill and help make the world a brighter place, American Girl is introducing Shine On Now. This program is every girls chance to have their voices heard and help raise $1M in clothes, books, dolls and money for these participating organizations.

K.I.D.S. –Kids in Distressed Situations
Save the Children
NACHRI-Nat’l Association of Children’s Hospitals & Related Institutions
NWF-National Wildlife Federation

American Girl’s Shine on Now campaign started June 28th; girls all over the country have the ability become an American Girl Ambassador and receive a tool kit full of tips and ideas for fundraising and volunteering. Also find out about InnerStarU; a fun, safe online world where girls learn to be their best through a variety of games, quizzes, and other enriching activities that help boost their confidence and strength.

Starting July 13th girls will then have the chance to donate “stars” to make the world a brighter place. The goal is to collect one million stars by the end of the program on July 31, 2010. Plus with each daily contribution (up to 100 per day) girls are entered in a daily drawing for a new American Girl Doll.

Sabreena is my shining star. She’s worked her way through middle school with others while fundraising for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Hannah’s Socks, Child Hunger Ends Here, Casey Cares, Franklin Square Hospital and more. During her 8th grade graduation assembly she was presented with a Citizenship Award. This award was given out to only 12 students in her entire class; it was a true honor to be recognized for her efforts. Sabreena will be an American Girl Ambassador and work towards making the world a better place not just for her but for others!

Celebrate the launch of Shine on Now and enter to WIN a new (new features and customization options coming) American Girl doll for a special girl in your life.   Tell me about this girl, what the wonderful things she does for her family, friends or community and why she is deserving of her very own American Girl doll. Please do not disclose the child’s name but do describe her life, her activities and the grand things she does for others!
