What The Heck Is Wrong With My 14 Year Old?

If you have been reading my tweets you will see I have been having problems with my 2007 Chevy HHR. My car is currently at the dealer for a third time for the same exact problem and it is starting to tick me off because it is not being fixed. Thank goodness I have an extended warrenty that is good up to 75K miles or else all of this crap would be coming out of my pocket. Whatever.
While online looking at the Nissan Cube's (shown above) I asked Sabreena what she thought and Sabreena said "EEWW, I hate those cars, they look weird". What the heck is wrong with her? LOL. Sabreena will be driving in two years which means her first car that I would be paying for would be only two years old but she thinks it looks weird. When did kids get so particular on what their first car looked like. When I started driving I drove my parents green station wagon that my brothers and I called The Dragon Wagon. I was just happy to be out of the house and driving but not Sabreena. She wants a car that doesn't look weird. I guess Sabreena will be driving Melinda's 2005 Ford Freestar minivan. LOL. Sabreena is a weirdo.

Oh no! DOn't even make me think of my children behind the wheel! Johnny already made sure I knew how many years it was away already. What I wouldn't do to be carted around every now!
LOL I had an 89 Toyota Tercel. Zebra seat covers, dice, fuzzy stearing wheel cover, and stick shift LOL!
LOL that is too funny I am one that does not like the look of many of the new cars/trucks either my hubby likes the older style ones the best. My daughters first car was a mini van and she loved it of course it was before the time where she could only have one person in car while driving
LOL. Ok I will be honest. I love a Nissan but not the Nissan Cube. Something about those little square vehicles just do not appeal to me. However my 14 year old loves them.
Kids are picky and my husband and I both had cars like you described as our first. Our oldest daughter will be 18 on the 22nd of this month. Well I had saved my 98 ford contour for her to drive when she turned 16. She flat out refused in saying it was an ugly car. Needless to say I was no happy. I looked at it as it looked brand new as we were the only owners of it and she thought differently. However she ended up with a little cheap car that later died on her and then she drove my mothers mini van for months. (this was cool to her) I agree..they are the weirdos ...LOL
Needless to say that 98 ford contour that she hated is still running. We gave it away to a friend of ours that needed it for a family member and they love it.
Kids..they really do have to live and learn
Dad and mom got me a car when I turned 16, it was a Dodge with running boards. I hated it and never drove it. Daddy traded it in for a much "cooler looking" car.
Yes, I am a girl. (I sure wish I'd have kept that car with running boards.)

Mine teen now is my FOURTH child to be driving! (YeGads, I am getting old!)
My first two kids could care less what they drove, as long as they had some wheels under them. These next two daughters started to SERIOUSLY critique cars at about 14...I guess thinking ahead to when they would be driving the COOLEST car ever. Ummmm....they got to drive a minivan because that is what our family NEEDS, and sometimes the Ram truck. My 17 year old loves to drive the big truck, as it gives her confidence and I think secretly she likes that guys think it is COOL! From about age 15 to NOW, she would look at EVERY car around and have an opinion of it. There was one that she especially would have LOVED. She JUST said the other night that she didn't even care anymore about what she drives. She drove my older daughters little coupe once and HATED it, as she said it felt weird/scary being so low to the ground and felt TOO small. GUess it was a good think having her learn with a BIGGER vehicle and a huge truck. Think we'll continue to drive a van and truck until the next two kids get through this milestone. My son is almost 13 and he won't be particular. I dont want to even THINK of my youngest at the wheel...she is 10, going on 25!Arrggghhhh!
I have to admit I think it looks weird too! I am leaning toward a Honda Pilot for my next pruchase.I think the square ones are a little like a box on wheels but not as bad as the new Hummers.Maybe I am still too young to get it since Im only 29(or maybe I just wish I was ..LOL)
I'm sorry, Rob. I'm with Sabreena. I'm not a fan of the Cube. Don't do it!!!
Wow that reminds me of my little sister. My sister and I drove a van with wood grain on the side and our "grandma car"! My little sister is going to be getting her own new car, I am sure of it! Oh and as far as getting a new car... I would go for the Nissan. We have found that our Nissan is very reliable and we have loved it so far (ours is the Altima though, I don't know anything about this car you are looking at). Good luck!
I'm w/Sabreena too! Not a big fan of cube shaped cars. But to each it's own. :) I am sure she will be grateful to have a car when she's of age to drive and not care so much as to what kinda of vehicle it is.
I actually really like this. It's kinda cool looking. It's different from the rest. Loving it!
Rob, sorry to admit, I am with your daughter on this one. That is one strange looking car. My friend bought one of those boxy Scions, we call it "the toaster". I did borrow it one time when my car was in the shop and they are pretty roomy inside because of their funky design.
On the other hand, she should feel very lucky to be getting such a new car in 2 years! What is she thinking?
I would drive it. My dad had an older Trooper at one time and I loved driving it.
