Recovering from the Snow

February 8, 2010 16 comments

We got pounded by snow this weekend. I think the final count was 26 inches. When we woke up Saturday morning the bulk of the snow had fallen and the snowdrifts had made it look like we had 3-4 feet snow instead. Rob braved the depth and the cold and the blizzard winds and dug out the sidewalks. It continued to snow all day so Rob has to go out a couple more times.  The cars had to wait till Sunday. Digging them out took about 4-5 hours. Of course Shaun and Sabreena had a good time playing in the snow. Shae and I never changed out of our jammies, it’s been a lazy weekend.

Hey! We must be close. I live in Fairfax, and our front yard sure did look a lot like yours this weekend. Of course, hubby and I are from Canada, so we enjoyed our days in the house, but if we were "home", we'd still have had to be out and get the kids to school this AM rather then the 4th day off in a row :P

I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and our yards looked exactly the same, and the weather channel's calling for five more inches between Tuesday and Wednesday.

    I'm all snowed out.

I can't believe how much snow you guys have gotten on the east coast.........I'm assuming you are east coast at least with that much snow. I'm imagining that shoveling that much snow has GOT to be hard on the back! :) Glad you were able to enjoy a lazy weekend. Are you snowed in this week too?

Oh my word!! My husband and I were born and raised in SW Michigan. Many memories..both good and not so good, of torrential winter blizzards! We live in South Florida right now (always subject to change), but at times I miss the fun side of it all...bot sledding down the interstate in my car, of course. Thanks for sharing the pics!

Wow... That's crazy! Snow is fun for a while, but it gets old quick. Like in a few hours quick. I'm so glad I live in Arizona!!

OK...I will STOP complaining now...we had a big DUMP earlier in the year with about 16-18 at one time, but we only got about 5 this time.It is INSANE how much people East of us got! It seems like will be white forever...

THAT is a great picture though!!. I would have to go on pure memory if it was me, cuz I would NOT go out and take pics in that kind of cold!
