Make Going Green count with GREENGUARD
Most of us are making attempts to "go green" in our everyday lives. Whether it's buying organic groceries, driving a hybrid car or recycling water bottles we should be proud of the steps we take. But how do you know those steps are the right ones? Did you know that indoor air could be 2-5 times more polluted than the air outside? Children are especially at risk, particularly those with asthma, allergies and respiratory diseases.
The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that oversees the GREENGUARD Certification ProgramSM. GEI establishes acceptable indoor air standards for indoor products, environments, and buildings. GEI's mission is to improve public health and quality of life through programs that improve indoor air. A GEI Advisory Board consisting of independent volunteers, who are renowned experts in the areas of indoor air quality, public and environmental health, building design and construction, and public policy, provides guidance and leadership to GEI.
Next time you need to buy furnishings, flooring or even new nursery bedding search the GEI Product Guide database for the safest selection of low-emmiting products and materials. Choose from some well-known manufacturers such as; Georgia-Pacific Gypsum, LLC, Owens Corning and Hunter Douglas, Dupont Surfaces.
GREENGUARD. . . Nurturing the indoor air you breathe.

it would be great if schools and daycare centers would use more Green Products.

This is a great resource, thanks. We're in the process of remodeling, and we've been trying to seek out green, low-emissions products, but it's not always easy to know what's what.
