Who helps you celebrate the season better than Hallmark. Step into any Hallmark Gold Crown store and instantly be swept away by the selection of greeting cards, memory keeping, ornaments, gifts and party products.
Love. Joy. Caring. Thoughtfulness. Hallmark helps fill the holidays with meaning by providing unique and personal ways to connect with loved ones throughout the season. Hallmark Gold Crown® stores are the place to find the newest creative Christmas innovations like the Recordable Storybook and DVD Greetings.
DVD Greetings
Hallmark DVD Greetings help bring the year’s stories to life and create a meaningful gift for family and friends. DVD Greetings include a card and a blank DVD designed to match the card. Using an access code included with the card, the card sender goes to a specified web site and uploads his or her digital photos to a template to create an animated movie set to music. The sender then burns the finished product to the included DVD and sends it to the recipient. The recipient can play the DVD on any DVD player, including a TV or computer. DVD Greetings are sold individually or in boxed sets of four. Each DVD Greeting holds up to 24 photos. In addition to holiday designs, DVD Greetings for everyday occasions also are available.
Recordable Storybook
The new holiday Recordable Storybook, The Night Before Christmas, enables the gift giver to record his or her voice reading the classic story. As recipients turn the pages of the book, they will automatically hear the voice of the sender/storyteller. Recordable Storybooks enable the people who record the books to be with the children they love even when they are far away – providing a legacy that can be loved for years to come. In addition to the holiday storybook, two everyday titles – All the Ways I Love You and Bright & Beautiful – also are available.

Our very first Christmas together we were SO tight on money. I really wanted a tree, but, as you know, trees can be expensive - particularly artificial ones. Well, just before Christmas Micheal's marked down their trees to insanely low prices. I called and they had ONE little four foot tree left so I asked them to hold it for me and my husband and I went to get our affordable tree. It was PERFECT! It fit in our little apartment and with some ribbon and lights it looked beautiful! I was so happy! Incidentally, nine years later, we still have that tiny tree. I still love it.

Our family keeps all the ornaments that my son makes each year and adds a new one to our collection each year. Our tree is then filled with hundreds of unique and some hand-made ornaments that really give it a warm and happy look which also allows us to think back on the memory associate with each ornament.

I have a little reindeer stuffed animal as well as a larger one that says, "Ho, ho, ho...Merry Christmas" when you squeeze it. I love to have them both out at holiday time. They're so simple, but they make me smile!

My favorite holiday memory is that from childhood. My parents always gave us one present from them on Christmas Eve. It was always new pajamas. I love that it was a tradition and now carry it on with my kids. :)
November 19, 2009 10:46 AM
Well, I have never had a real Christmas tree until I was with my (now) husband. We would go and pick one out ... Then go home and decorate. This year, he is deployed, so I will not be having a real tree.
I would like to win this giftcard to buy one of the recordable books you mentioned. I could send it to him to record and send back for our 9 month old son to hear his voice.
Thanks for the contest!

I just bought the recordable Night Before Christmas for my best friend and her family. Her husband is losing his battle with cancer and is now bed ridden. They have two children ages 7 and 9 who are about to lose their Dad.
When I gave them the book there were tears in their eyes once they realized that Daddy's voice will always live on in the book for every Christmas after he is gone. This book will now become a Christmas tradition for them.

We were very poor when I was a kid. We did get a Christmas tree from the woods and we made paper chains to put on the tree. Before my husband passed away we use to go around the neighborhood and look at the lights. There is one stretch that is especially pretty down the creek with all the docks decorated and lit up.
November 21, 2009 10:52 AM
Each year we get a new ornament for each kid. We try to find something that is meaningful for the past year. When it is time to decorate the tree, the kids place their own ornaments on the tree. It really brings back memories of the years gone by.

I would have to say last year. I had everyone over at my Mom's. I made caramel apples, brownies, cookies, homemade candies plus the dinner and she loved it ! She enjoyed wrapping the apples in bags and then handing them out as gifts. I made all different colors and flavors. My children were there for dinner and I invited the whole family. I am so glad I made this Christmas so happy because it was the last for her and one of my sons. I have many happy memories and plenty of pictures . It is one that I will cherish always.

My daughter had looked forward to her Starbucks hot chocolate all day. We did our shopping and she finally got it, outside the store there was a homeless lady shivering on the ground. My daughter walked over and gave her the Hot chocolate without hesitation. It was amazing. Thanks for the chance.

Our family gets together on Christmas for the usual celebration but we also do Christmas crackers (poppers). Inside is a paper hat. Everyone puts on their paper hat and the last one who still has his/hers on is the winner. You are teamed up with others who have the same color hat as you.

My favorite Christmas memory is going to look at an overly-decorated house about 5 minutes from where I grew up. Even when visiting after I grew up, I would still have to make a point to go see them.

One of my favorite traditions was making Pecan pies and tarts with my mom. She was from Mississippi and made the best ever. We would sit at her kitchen table and talk and laugh, while making these together. Wonderful times!

One Christmas my 13-year-old brother insisted on climbing on my dad's back to put the angel on top of the tree! It was priceless. My dad is very short, and my brother is very tall, but neither fell down!
