Thank You Keurig, I Have Been Freed

Melinda and I have been married for a little over 8 years and for the last 7.5 years I have had to make her coffee. Let me explain.
Now I don't know if it was an act but Melinda would always ask me to make her coffee (meaning cream and sugar) because she said she didn't know how to make it. I can understand the brewing process and setting up the coffee pot and adding the beans etc but cream and sugar? How do you not know how to add cream and sugar? I don't drink her coffee so what made me the resident expert on everything Melinda's coffee? LOL. I love Melinda very much so I never really pushed the issue.
For the last 7.5 years with no questions asked I would just make her coffee. So this morning Melinda came down stairs and we were sitting at the kitchen table and I asked did she want me to make her a cup of coffee and she said "NO". What? I was kind of in shock. Melinda said now that we have a Keurig she can now make her own coffee.
Today was kind of a sad day on many levels. I have been making Melinda's coffee for so long I now feel like I am no longer needed.
So all I can say is Thank You Keurig. You have freed me for my coffee making duties.
Gratefully Yours,
Gratefully Yours,

LOL That's funny. Our Keurig saved my DH from Dunkin Donuts every morning because he's the only coffee drinker here.
I pace myself between my coffee maker and my Kuerig. Buying the K cups are out of my way and they aren't exactly cheap. If I'm home for the day I'll make a pot. If I want a cup at night I'll use my Kuerig. My mom really wants one for Xmas.
Aww lol that is sweet that you've always made her coffee though! Let the coffee chains fall haha!
We rotate using our Keurig and our Bodum French Press. The Keurig is so convenient though! I'm loving it more and more each day when he's at work and I just want to make a cup for myself. :)
HAHA. This is cute. I rarely drink coffee, but every NOW & THEN, it's good. Usually just on the chilly days.
:D
The Keurig has made it possible for my 10 year old to make me a cup. Sorry you've been replaced on the coffee making front, lol!
My hubby also goes to Dunkins ever morning. I am a tea drinker but still drink Dunkins tea every day. We got a Keurig and LOVE it!! No more Dunkins runs ( ok.. he still goes on the weekends) but we adore it! And I get my tea or flavored hot chocolate!!
I have never made coffee, and my husband would probably like it if I learned! The Keurig looks like it would make that easier for both of us!
Thanks! foxsquirrelrabbit at gmail dot com
I have always wanted one of those!!
lol We just got a Keurig and hubby doesn't have to make mine either. For some reason he can mix the cream and sugar just right and he also makes sweet tea just perfect. :)
Jennifer Leigh, have you tried the my K-Cup thingy where you can use your own coffee? We just got one! It saves on K-Cups if you want to use your own.
I have made my hubby coffee for the last 26 years, yep every morning :) I saw a pretty red Keurig at Kohl's this weekend and mentioned to my husband that is on my wishlist. Crossing my fingers he takes the hint. I may have to do something extra, but hey it would be worth it!
Awwww...that is a little sad. I am sure you are still needed for different things. LOL. You are more than just the coffee maker.
LOL you're funny Rob!
Keurig's are awesome, aren't they?!
Our friend has a Keurig and they are awesome! I am going to have my husband read this post because he also has to make my coffee for me. Maybe he will get me one for Christmas!
Aw! So sweet that you did it with no complaints and now are a bit sad and missing it... But nice for the freedom too! =)
This is the coolest thing ever!
I love my Keurig. LOVE it! I'm a simple one when it comes to coffee...just black please!
As a former barista, it does make me a bit sad to see the coffee-making process automated so much. What you're gaining in convenience, you're giving up in freshness. I know it's not for everyone, but for my money you can't beat fresh beans from a local roaster. Just sayin ;)
Awww, that is so sweet! While I don't understand how it can be easier to stir in milk and sugar with this machine, I can see how it can hurt your ego for a minute.
I won a Keurig in a giveaway and my husband and I are eagerly awaiting its arrival!
