Aloha Friday - Thanksgiving

Friday, November 20, 2009

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. Head over to An Island Life for more Aloha Friday!!

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants!

My Question is: What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?

Mine is an appetizer that my father-in-law makes and it is shrimp dip (made with tiny deveined shrimp and french onion dip) and we eat it with Fritos. Yummy!

I do not have one. If I had to chose I would say potatoes without gravy.

mine was always my grandmother's cornbread dressing.

Good ole southern style corn bread dressing. I loved my Grandma's growing up, but now I make my own and it is even better. If no one wants me to bring it to the family gathering I make a batch just for our family. I must have it.

smashed potatoes and rolls. It is even better when you put the potatoes on the rolls before you eat it...is that strange? ;0)

I am a stuffing kind of girl....loaded with gravy. But I do also love the appetizers. My MIL makes shrimp and my cousins bring her amazing cheese ball. Yummy, I can't wait.

Hands down it's pecan pie. I can't understand the people who hate it, it's leaps and bounds better than pumpkin pie (though I do like pumpkin pie).

Mashed potatoes with gravy are also delish of course.

I like the pecan pie my Aunt makes. I know it's not a dish, but it's my favorite part of the meal! LOL!

My favorite was my grandma's turkey dressing - but since she passed away, it's no more. So now my favorite is definitely the pumpkin pie!

The stuffing is my favorite, but it has to be homemade. None of that box stuff for me.
